Passify

Windows Browser Setup Tool

To autofill in your web browser on Windows, the Passify browser extension needs to be able to talk to the Passify application. Windows does not allow Passify to set up this connection by itself, so Passify provides a small setup tool that does it for you. You only need to run it once.

Windows Security Warning The setup tool is not digitally signed, so when you run it Windows may show a "Windows protected your PC" (SmartScreen) message, and your browser may warn that the file is not commonly downloaded. This is expected. To continue, click "More info" and then "Run anyway". If you would like to check that your copy is genuine first, compare its SHA-256 hash with the one listed below.

To set up your browsers:

  1. Download the Passify Browser Setup Tool
  2. Run the downloaded file.
  3. When the tool asks if you would like to continue, click the "OK" button. The tool will connect Passify to each of your supported browsers that it finds.
  4. If any of your browsers are open, restart them.
  5. Install the Passify extension for your browser. See Browser AutoFill Extensions for the links.

Installed a New Browser? If you install another browser after running the tool, run the tool again. It will offer to connect the new browser.

Verify your download

Version 1.0 of the setup tool has this SHA-256 hash. To check your copy, open PowerShell in the folder you downloaded it to and run Get-FileHash .\PassifyBrowserSetup-v1.0.exe. The hash it shows must match this one exactly. If it does not, do not run the file.

Supported browsers

The tool supports Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Brave, Vivaldi, Opera, and Chromium.

To remove the connection:

Run the tool again. When all of your browsers are already connected, it will ask if you would like to remove the connection instead. If only some browsers are connected, the tool offers to add the missing ones or to remove the connection entirely.

Removing the connection only removes what the tool added. It does not change your browsers' other settings or your Passify data.
